Private View Thursday 26th February 5-7pm.
Show ends Saturday 14th March.
This exhibition presents work by second-year students from the BA (Hons) Painting, Drawing & Printmaking programme at Arts University Plymouth. After a process of expanding their practices through experimentation with materials, processes, and approaches to making, they are now beginning to consider how this work operates within a public setting, exploring different strategies for display and presentation.
Exhibiting work publicly introduces a new set of challenges, requiring artists to refine their intentions, clarifying what they wish to communicate. Equally, the process of opening up to a space outside the studio is an essential part of artistic development.
This presentation of work offers an opportunity to see emerging practices at a stage of intense development as they navigate the relationship between the artwork and its audience.
