My work stems from an emotional response to the natural world, particularly the many walks exploring wild and watery places in the West Country where I have lived over half my life. Back in the studio, memory and imagination play on particular moments that stick in my mind and where a sort of resonance or luminosity seems to have given me a feeling of connection with a particular place. This is where the pictures begin.

Feeling the love

We spent some time looking for someone who could produce some solid wooden frames to mount our medals in. James, listened carefully to what we wanted and made us the exact high-quality frame we needed. Since then, we re-order every couple of weeks including some complex bespoke frames. We have been working together for about 10 years and I couldn’t recommend The Framing Centre highly enough.

Artmill Gallery & Framing Centre are our go to framers for The Arts Institute, University of Plymouth. They have a particular empathy for artists requirements and always produce work to the highest quality. Many of our exhibiting artists have been so impressed with the outcome that they go on to use Artmill for all their work.
