Derek Menary

Born in Belfast.
Studied under G. G. McCann, then at Belfast College of Art.
Followed by a Studentship with Belfast Arts Theatre.
From 1064-69 the artist worked in professional theatre and BBC Television (London)
In 1970 he became a student at Dartington College of Arts.
From 1973-89, as well as painting, he worked as a teacher/lecturer.
`My work is as a result of specific experience… reading a novel, listening to music, watching a film or travelling through a landscape`.

Feeling the love

We spent some time looking for someone who could produce some solid wooden frames to mount our medals in. James, listened carefully to what we wanted and made us the exact high-quality frame we needed. Since then, we re-order every couple of weeks including some complex bespoke frames. We have been working together for about 10 years and I couldn’t recommend The Framing Centre highly enough.
