KAREN PAWLEY
Karen Pawley is a Plymouth-based artist. She is best-known for her dynamic and vibrant paintings of the landscape of the South West and particularly the Cornish coast.

Her work is created out of an emotional response to the natural world. It is often deliberately indeterminate, reflecting a sense of the landscape mediated by memory and familiarity.

The gestural mark-making, intuitive use of colour and diverse, spontaneous ways of applying paint reflect her intention that the paintings and drawings are seen as a record of the act of interpreting her experience.
