JOHN STRUTHERS
John studied at Falmouth School of Art (B. A. Hons Fine Art – Sculpture). He lectured in art and art history for 20 years before moving to Orkney in the late 1980s and exhibits widely including London, Paris and Edinburgh. John developed a keen interest in the history of ceramics from the Neolithic and early bronze age periods through to the beginning of European civilisation and Celtic and Cycladic art. This interest feeds into much of his work.


Living in Orkney has been all important to the development of Johns work, but one can still see the influence of St Ives and Cornwall and those earlier years..
