I make abstract paintings that respond to how I see and experience places.

In particular I am interested in the qualities of light, colour and space.

The material qualities of paint, gestural markmaking and creating an aesthetic resolution of these elements is also an important.

I work from sketchbook studies and drawings; the paintings are reworked and layered seeking a visual equivalent rather than a representation."
