PLYMOUTH SOCIETY OF ARTISTS MEMBERS SHOW
Saturday February 4th - 25th February 2012
@ Artmill Gallery

The PSA was formed in 1944 when a group of artists, interested in contemporary and progressive styles and methods, met at the Plymouth School of Art and decided to join together to exhibit their work. Their avowed intent was to provide the people of Plymouth with the opportunity to see, free of charge, a stimulating collection of work in a wide variety of styles and techniques. When one remembers that the City was still flattened after the Luftwaffe blitz, it is inspiring that they could raise their minds to Art! The Society aims to hold two shows a year. This Spring Show at Artmill is for members only and, late in the year, there is the South West Open Art Exhibition held at, and in association with, the City Museum and Art Gallery.
Membership of the PSA is by invitation only and currently there are 41 members, nearly all professional artists and art teachers. They are drawn from right across the Region - from Penzance to Bath and two live in France and two in London.
The PSA is delighted to continue its fairly new association with Artmill.
